
"This is a controversial issue. For several years Kyiv has been fighting with the region for disputed territory, including Belichanski forest adjacent to Kotsubynske village with the area of 100 ha and four thousand ha for construction. The practice proves that holding legal actions on this issue is impossible without established city boundaries," she said.
According to her, "neighbors' attempts to take the territory" have force the council to work out a draft bill. "We understand that there will be a conflict, but we have no other way. We will fight for the territory of Kyiv," the official underlined.
Herega specified that Kyiv intends to affirm the city territory at 84 974 hectares, extending the boundaries by two thousand hectares, taking a part of the territory of the Kyiv region and giving 659 ha to the region.
