In Ukraine, standards of toys' safety will soon meet the requirements of the EU directives. For this, the Economy Ministry of Ukraine has prepared Cabinet's draft resolution "On technical regulations of toys' safety", standards of which will meet the requirements of the Directive 2009/48/EU of the European Parliament and Council of June 18, 2009 regarding the toys' safety.
In particular, the draft resolution on the new version of the regulations specifies physical, chemical, fire safety and sanitary requirements for toys. Moreover, the document approves the regulations implementation plan.
According to the Economy Ministry, new regulations are aimed at elimination of technical barriers in trade, prevention of selling dangerous toys on Ukrainian markets, simplification of cooperation between controlling bodies within the system of information exchange on dangerous products.
