MPs from the Party of Regions will not put signature under the text of the statement of the opposition factions regarding Ukraine's European aspirations, MP from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Oliynyk said on the Parliament’s sidelines, ForUm correspondent reports.
The MP argues that such an appeal to the European Union is not a document, but private correspondence.
Oliynyk also reminded that earlier there were cases of fake and stamped facsimile signatures under other applications.
"Are our colleagues confident that this trick will work in the future and someone will be able to state that he has not signed? Or they're going to notarize? You have to be serious in such matters. We will not sign under this clowning," the MP from majority said.
Volodymyr Oliynyk predicted that the opposition will fail to collect more than 180 signatures, but if they even succeeded, it would still be only address. "Europe will not even read it," Oliynyk said.
He insisted that such documents should be voted for at the session hall. There will be more than 400 votes for the regulatory act on European integration, and the document is sure to be considered by the EU.
