From among the thousands of languages, existing on the planet, the dearest one for everybody is his native language. The historical fate, spiritual power and national essence of people is embodied in the native language, congratulatory letter of president Viktor Yanukovych on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day reads.
“I congratulate you on the International Mother Language Day, which attract attention of the humanity to the importance of preservation of linguistic diversity in the modern world," the head of state said.
For many centuries, the language has helped people assert their identity, serving as a significant factor of mutual understanding, the President added.
The President is confident that strengthening of the positions of the Ukrainian language in all spheres of social life and cherishing the entire linguistic and cultural diversity of Ukraine will further promote the progressive development of the state.
