Ukraine's former acting defense minister Valeriy Ivashchenko has been granted a residence permit, rather than a political asylum in Denmark.
Acting Director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.
"Valeriy Ivashchenko was granted a residence permit in Denmark. We have not currently got the confirmation that he was given a political asylum," he said, citing the Danish Foreign Ministry.
Media reports, citing the Danish Foreign Ministry, said on February 14 that Denmark had granted a political asylum to Ivashchenko.
