In 2012, Ukraine had 5.5 thousand kindergartens, in which 130 children claimed for 100 seats, scientific director of the European Research Association (ERA) Maryna Sobolevska said at the presentation "Preschool education in Ukraine: rise or fall?" ForUm correspondent reports.
She noted that 116 children claim for 100 seats in kindergartens in Ukraine and 126 children in the cities.
Meanwhile, head of the advisory council of the ERA Svitlana Horna said that there are serious problems with preschool education in villages.
According to her, there are no pre-schools in 30% of villages that took part during this research.
"There is no money for the maintenance of kindergartens in 41% of cases, there is no appropriate building in 32%," she said.
