Planes of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are evacuating 11 Ukrainian citizens from Syria on Tuesday, the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow stated, UKRINFORM reports.
"It is expected that today the planes of the Russian Emergencies Ministry will evacuate from Syria, along with Russian citizens, 11 citizens of Ukraine who wished to leave Syria. Among them are children and adults," an embassy representative said.
He said that employees of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission would do everything necessary to ensure the further return of Ukrainians to their homeland.
According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, two ministry planes, Il-76 and Il-62, left for Syria with humanitarian cargo at 10.05 and 10.10 Moscow time on Tuesday.
"Citizens of Russia and other CIS countries, who wish to fly from the country, will be able to leave Syria on board of these aircrafts. The departure from Latakia to Russia is scheduled for today," he said.
