Foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara urged opposition MPs to unblock the Verkhovna Rada to avoid a negative assessment by the European Union on the eve of Ukraine - EU summit.
"I think that blocking of the Verkhovna Rada will have a very negative effect, particularly in the context of the Ukraine - European Union summit, which will be held in a week," the foreign minister said in an interview with the ICTV TV channel.
He noted that the summit will include issues on Ukraine's implementation of the action plan on visa liberalization, and inactivity of the Verkhovna Rada, according to the minister, "may negatively affect, at least on the conclusions of the European Union."
He also expressed the view that those political forces, which are currently blocking the Parliament, "are also blocking the European integration of Ukraine."
