The EU foreign ministers stressed once again their readiness to sign an Association Agreement with Ukraine, if Kyiv shows its progress, conclusions on "Eastern Partnership" approved today at a meeting of foreign ministers of the EU said.

"Recalling its conclusions on Ukraine from December 10, 2012, the Council emphasizes again its obligations for the signing of an Association Agreement, including deep and comprehensive free trade area, as soon as the Ukrainian authorities demonstrate their decisive action and tangible progress in three key fields, the EU may sign this agreement before the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius," the conclusions read.

The document recalls that Ukraine should meet three criteria to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, in particular, "ensuring the compliance of elections with international standards and appropriate follow-up actions for the 2012 elections; addressing the issue of selective justice and preventing its recurrence; and implementing the reforms set out in the jointly agreed Association Agenda."

The ministers stressed that the signing of the agreement may be followed by a decision on provisional application of parts of the agreement from the date of signing.
