According to the results of 2012, Ukraine will continue to maintain the economic growth, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said in interview with the analytical magazine "Ukraine and the World in 2013. Global Agenda", ForUm learned from the press service of the President.

"Economic growth is to be preserved in Ukraine this year, while recession is expected in many countries. We hope to maintain the positive trend in 2013, despite all possible external challenges," Yanukovych said.

He noted that our government constantly studies the situation in the world and is looking for protective mechanisms for the domestic economy. In particular, much attention is paid to the stability of the situation in the macro financial field.

According to the President, growth of domestic demand and improvement of sustainability of the country’s economy to external risks by promoting business activity and reforms are important factors in minimizing the negative effects of the global crisis for Ukraine.

Yanukovych noted that during the modernization and economic reforms the government will focus primarily on creating the conditions for economic growth by keeping low inflation, stability of public finances, stable financial system, formation of maximal assistance to business and modernization of infrastructure and basic sectors of the economy.
