Language policy should facilitate integration of representatives from all ethnic groups into Ukrainian society, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said in interview with the analytical magazine "Ukraine and the World in 2013. Global Agenda".
"Our priority is to implement considered and balanced language policy, which will promote integration of representatives of all ethnic groups in our country into Ukrainian society," he said.
According to Yanukovych, the adoption of relevant, modern language legislation is a very important task, as the accumulated problems have been not solved for years. "The passed law requires improvement," he said.
At the same time, the President stressed that the development and proper functioning of the Ukrainian language should be the firm foundation of the law.
