Military service should become a profession in Ukraine, chairman of the committee for peacekeeping soldiers at the Council of CIS heads of government, member of military operations in Afghanistan, hero of the Soviet Union and lieutenant general Ruslan Aushev stated, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The army should become a profession. If the state wants to protect itself, it must establish such profession as a defender of the motherland, pay him salary and solve his social problems," he said.
According to Aushev, a soldier is a profession, like a miner.
