The list of infectious diseases, which can be prevented by vaccination, may be expanded in Ukraine, head of public health department of the Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine Alla Hryhorenko said in the comment to ForUm correspondent.
"Recommendations of the Mission of the World Health Organization indicate that the immunization calendar must be improved, including by expanding the list of diseases, against which people should be vaccinated," she said.
According to Hryhorenko, an expert group to consider improving of immunization calendar and make proposals for discussion is being set up now.
Responding to a question about how long it takes, she said: "This work is not of one day or one month. I can not give specific dates, but it will be done quickly".
At the same time the head of department added that given the scientific basis of the issues and the creation of an expert group, the process is likely to take several months.
