Economically justified fare in public transport in Kyiv is 2.5 UAH, head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov said, examining the construction of the site of Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiiska subway line, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The fact is, we are subsidizing about 1 UAH to metropolitan passenger transport from the city and the state budget, not to raise prices. We will continue doing so," the official said.
Popov specified that the annual subsidy to public transport consumes about 350 million USD.
Responding to the question of raising route taxis fares, Popov said that the city government can not influence the decisions of private carriers.
