Deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission Andriy Mahera believes that the proposal to hold elections in Kyiv at the end of May - beginning of June complies with the law.

"Based on the fact that members of the Kyiv City Council were elected for a term of five years, and the mayor - for four years, the draft regulations on the election date are adequate," he told reporters on Wednesday.

"If the Parliament adopts draft resolutions on holding elections in Kyiv and allocation of means, I think that they will be passed in accordance with the legislation," Mahera said.
When asked about the fact that budget 2013 does not provide for funds for the elections, he said that this is not a problem.

"This does not mean that the Cabinet can not allocate the funds. In the end, there is a reserve fund of the state budget of Ukraine, and the elections are to be financed in full," the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission said.
