Ukrainian oil and gas concern Naftogaz Ukrainy and Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz plan have signed a memorandum on Turkmen gas supply to Ukraine, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told journalists in Ashgabat.
"A memorandum between Naftogaz of Ukraine and Turkmengaz have been signed on cooperation in the oil and gas industry, including the resumption of gas supplies to our country and to Europe and exploration of deposits in Turkmenistan."
Talking about the route to deliver the Turkmen gas to Ukraine, Stavytsky said: "We have a pipeline, which goes through the northern part of Turkmenistan and Russia. We talked about this. We agreed first with our colleagues from Turkmenistan, and then we will negotiate further."
He also noted that the issue on volume of possible deliveries of the Turkmen gas to Ukraine will be decided later.
Speaking about the date of implementation of this project, Stavytsky said: "The parties will visit each other to develop a strategy for the development of these directions."
