The government will deepen the development of domestic pharmacological market, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said during the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We all are concerned that expensive imported drugs are mainly used during the treatment. This reduces the availability of treatment," the Prime Minister said.

He recalled that last year European standards of gross national products (GNP) were introduced in Ukraine.

"And now we can say that domestic drugs correspond to the quality and medical properties of imported drugs, and they are even cheaper. We will strengthen this direction, as the market is full of imported drugs by 80%," Azarov said.
