The Council instructed the European Commission to begin negotiations with Ukraine on the intention of the Ukrainian party to review 370 tariff lines under the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The relevant decision was taken in Brussels, during the meeting of the EU Council on Economic and Financial Affairs.

"The Council instructed the European Commission to begin negotiations with Ukraine, under the Article 28 of the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, to obtain full compensation for any modification of tariff concessions by Ukraine," the decision reads.

As reported, in September 2012 Ukraine warned WTO members of its intention to raise tariffs on imports of about 370 products.
