The next negotiations to resolve the Transnistrian conflict in the 5+2 format will be held in Lviv on February 18-19, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

He stressed that these talks will be held with the participation of representatives of Moldova and Transnistria as parties of the negotiations, the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine as mediators and the U.S. and the EU as observers.

According to Perebyinis, Ukraine hoped that a meeting of Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat and Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk would be held in the framework of these negotiations, but the Transnistrian party is not ready for these talks.

"Ukraine will continue to promote the establishment of relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, considering it as the best mechanism for establishing trust between two banks of the Dniester," he noted.
