Ukraine condemns North Korea's new nuclear test, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Ukraine is deeply concerned that North Korea tested once again a nuclear device on February 12, despite the UN Security Council resolutions. Ukraine, as OSCE chair and the state that voluntarily gave up its nuclear arsenal and strictly adheres to the principles of nuclear non-proliferation, condemns this step of North Korea," he said.

Perebyinis noted that the nuclear test in North Korea could lead to a further deterioration of the situation on the Korean peninsula. "We urge the North Korean leadership to stop immediately testing nuclear devices and to resume urgently a dialogue with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The concerned countries will make their best efforts to resume the six-party talks," he summed up.
