Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will pay a state visit to Turkmenistan on February 12-14, head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Serhiy Liovochkin said on Monday, Interfax informs.

The head of state will hold talks with Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and visit Lebap Province, where he will attend events to mark the opening and launch of construction of infrastructure facilities in Turkmenistan with the involvement of Ukrainian companies, the presidential press service reported.

Priority attention during high-level talks will be paid to the practical implementation of Ukrainian-Turkmen cooperation plans, especially in trade, economy, energy, construction, science and technology.

It is planned that following the visit, the sides will sign a joint statement on deepening friendship and cooperation between Ukraine and Turkmenistan, which will secure major bilateral agreements on enhancing cooperation in many spheres.

Liovochkin also said that during the visit, the parties plan to sign a number of bilateral documents aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the oil and gas, financial, military, technical and humanitarian spheres, as well as at the regional level.
