Ukrainian Olena Pidhrushna won the women's sprint at the biathlon world championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. Pidhrushna's teammate Vita Semerenko got the bronze.
Pidhrushna edged World Cup leader Tora Berger of Norway who was 6.4 seconds behind for the silver after missing one target.
Viktoria Semerenko, as Olena Pidhrushna, shot flawlessly and was 22.8 seconds behind the winner.
