Funding of preparations and holding of the final tournament of the European Basketball Championship 2015 is scheduled to begin in the second half of February, finance minister Yuri Kolobov said during the first meeting of the committee on preparations and holding of EuroBasket 2015.
"These funds are provided under a separate budget program, the order has already been approved by the Finance Ministry," he said, noting that 200 million UAH will be allocated for the implementation of the relevant activities in 2013.
"Our task is to bring the EuroBasket objects in compliance with the requirements of FIBA Europe and provide organizational preparations for the Championship," Kolobov added.
At the same time, the finance minister noted the need to accelerate the work on the exact list of places, sports arenas and other sports infrastructure, which is necessary to build and reconstruct for the championship.
