Ukraine hopes to continue cooperation with the European Union to harmonize its legislation with the European laws, President Viktor Yanukovych said during the meeting with European Commissioner for enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle on Friday.
"We appreciate the assistance, which is constantly provided in the preparation of legislation and harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with the European one. I hope that this cooperation will continue to be productive and have a positive impact," Yanukovych said.
Speaking about the modernization of Ukraine, Ukraine’s President said that the government is self-critical about certain fields, in which it is not always possible to achieve the desired goal. "Sometimes, there are natural obstacles on the way of implementation of the adopted laws - officials, politicians, who want to live as they used to before. Therefore, this reaction was quite expected," Yanukovych added.
