Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov believes that the city train now runs on the optimal schedule for the city, ForUm correspondent reports.
Capital’s official said that there are two immediate problems with the city train. The first problem is insufficient number of locomotives. The second issue is the need for the planned passing of freight trains' across the railway bridge.
The first issue is resolved by agreement with "Ukrzaliznytsya" state-run railway company: several locomotives have been already reconstructed.
According to Popov, the current timetable of city trains is the best possible. If rolling stock is increased, negotiations with the 'Ukrzaliznytsya' will be conducted to increase the time of operation. However, this is not possible yet.
