Social policy of Ukraine will have five priorities in 2013, social policy minister Natalya Korolevska said, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the minister, all the efforts will be made to ensure equal opportunities for all people and to create adequate social protection for vulnerable social categories. 

She stressed that the first strategic direction of the Ministry is an effective social assistance.

The second important direction is to ensure the effective employment and to improve the pension system, the minister continued.

As for the protection of vulnerable groups, the Ministry has prepared a plan of legislative and regulatory work to enhance a social protection of war veterans, Chernobyl disaster victims, large families, etc.

All priorities have been developed by a three-year action plan of the Social Policy Ministry, the official noted.

"But we have to plan the social development for the future. That is why the Ministry has established a scientific and expert council to promote the concept of social development of Ukraine for 2013-2023. This is another strategic direction of our work for this year. As for the expenses, 370 billion UAH will be allocated for the social protection of the citizens in 2013," Korolevska summed up.
