Representatives of the European Parliament assured in support for the gradual introduction of visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara said after the meeting with the deputies, heads of committees and political groups in the European Parliament.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties paid special attention to the activities of monitoring mission of the European Parliament headed by Pat Cox and Alexander Kwasniewski.
In addition, Kozhara and the MEPs exchanged views on the political and economic situation in Ukraine, in particular in the context of recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR on the results of the parliamentary elections, some criminal cases, resumption of cooperation with the IMF and priorities of Ukraine's chairmanship in the OSCE.
The minister thanked the MEPs for the consistent support for Ukraine's European integration aspirations and expressed hope that further active position of the parliamentarians will promote a successful conclusion of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in 2013.
