Ukraine and Russia are important to each other, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara told journalists, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Russia was, is and will be a very important partner for Ukraine ... Last year the volume of mutual trade amounted to 57 billion dollar," he said.
Kozhara added that "Ukraine is between Germany and Italy for Russia in the context of trade promotion."
He explained that last year the trade volume of Russia with Germany was 70 billion dollar and with Italy - about 50 billion dollar.
The minister added that Ukraine intends to develop relations with the Customs Union. He recalled that Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan take 40% of Ukraine's foreign trade.
