Warm spell is expected in Ukraine in the next few days, director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine Mykola Kulbida told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
" Warm spell may be expected starting from January 30. It will cover all the territory of the western regions. There will be a rise in temperature in southern and eastern Ukraine as well. Night temperature will be - 1 - 6 degrees below zero, temperature during the day will be about 0. Low temperatures will be observed only in a narrow band: Kyiv region, part of Zhytomyr region, part of Vinnytsia region and part of Cherkasy region. At night, 12 degrees below zero is expected," he said.
According to Kulbida, on Thursday, January 31, active atmospheric fronts will come from Western Europe to the territory of Ukraine. First they will bring precipitation in the form of wet snow, rolling in the rain, and a further increase in temperature. At night it will be around 0 degrees, in the afternoon - from 1 to 5 degrees above zero. In Crimea, it is expected 3 - 8 degrees above zero.
In addition, Kulbida said that wind speed could be 15-20 m/s in western, northern and central regions.
On February 1-5, minor variations in temperature will be observed in Ukraine.
"Overall, the temperature will be 4-7 degrees above normal regime for this period, the weather will be warm enough," director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine summed up.
