Universities should be given not only academic, but also economic autonomy, allowing them to decide on research priorities, vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Kostyantyn Hryshchenko said during the meeting with students of the National Lviv Polytechnic University, the press office of vice Prime Minister informs.

Economic autonomy of the universities will strengthen research and innovation in the field of education and science.

"This will allow, in particular, determining the priorities for teaching and research, the use of charitable contributions, support for the talented young people," Hryshchenko said.
 
According to Hryshchenko, one of the priorities in the process of reforming the system of education is a need for interaction with employers that would "clarify priorities in training".

Vice Prime Minister also expressed his belief that a new generation of state standards will form a modern education system.
