Füle: Reforms bring Eastern Partnership countries closer to the EU

European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle declares that the progress of the Eastern Partnership countries in the field of democracy and holding of necessary reforms bring them closer to the EU, he told a press conference in Strasbourg, where he plans to speak at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

"I hope that the summit (Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius in November of 2013. - Ed.) will provide an opportunity to take a clear step for countries which carry out reforms in the direction of approach to the EU, and to the fact that article 49 of the agreement of the European Union becomes more real," Füle said.
