Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is indignant over cases of delayed payment of government social aid to children.

“On January 10, I started to receive complaints about delayed payments, while the State Treasury had informed on transferring the necessary funds on time and in full,” he said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

Azarov instructed the government to examine the complaints. In his opinion, some local labor and social protection agencies have delayed the payments on purpose due to the bureaucratic renaming of departments.

"I'm indignant over the situation. I demand that the district state administrations, in which such cases were registered, severely punish the officials, responsible for delays," Azarov said.

In addition, PM instructed social policy minister Natalia Korolevska to personally oversee each case of the non-payment of social aid and report to the Cabinet on the taken measures.
