Ukrainian citizens did not work at the Algerian gas plant, captured by terrorists, the Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis informed.
"On January 16-20, 37 citizens of eight countries were killed at the Algerian gas plant. Five foreigners are still considered to be missing... 29 militants were killed and two militants detained," he said.
According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Algeria, there were no Ukrainian citizens at the plant. "We want to draw attention to the situation in the region and in the Republic of Mali. In order to avoid threats to the life and health of our citizens, we strongly recommend our citizens to refrain from visits to the region and surrounding areas. In case of problems, the citizens of Ukraine can contact the Embassy," Perebyinis summed up.
