In 2012, Ukrainians paid 27 billion UAH for drugs, which is by 17% more than in 2011, head of the State Service for Drugs Oleksiy Solovyov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to him, every Ukrainian spent about 60 dollars on drugs during the year. Solovyov also said that in 2012 the number of pharmacies increased in Ukraine.

"The number of pharmacies increased by 3.5% and amounted to 14.8 thousand. It increased by 7% to 3.4 thousand in rural areas," the official said.
