There is no flu epidemic in Ukraine, deputy health minister Raisa Moiseyenko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Since the beginning of the incidence rate, 2.5 million Ukrainians have got sick with influenza and ARVI. The increase in incidence was 17% last week. This figure was predicted, because the children went to school after their winter breaks. But none of the ten control cities and none of Ukraine’s regions has exceeded epidemic threshold," she said.

According to her, the largest number of the flu cases was found in Kyiv and the lowest - in Kharkiv.

In turn, chairman of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine Anatoliy Ponomarenko said that 5.5 million people were infected with influenza in 2011-2012.
