Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Christof Weil and the Ambassador of France Alain Remy believe that the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement can not be viewed as "stick and carrot" approach.

"The Agreement is the result of years of negotiations, after which a compromise, supported by both parties, was reached," Weil said.

The Ambassadors stressed that their countries support the early conclusion of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. At the same time, they recalled the statement of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU of December 10, 2012, which expressed the hope that the document will be signed before the end of 2013. "We are constantly negotiating on the EU-Ukraine relations. There is a plan for the association and the task on it, we're talking about. There is a plan on visa regime. That is, we really conduct a very active dialogue. There is simply no alternative to it," Ambassador Weil said.

Ambassador Remy said that the EU is ready to accompany Ukraine in solving its internal problems. "This will be discussed on the next important meeting, which is scheduled for February 25 of this year - EU-Ukraine summit in Brussels," the Ambassador of France said.
