No flu epidemic in Kyiv, capital officials say

The incidence of influenza and ARVI in Kyiv is 2.8 times below epidemic threshold, head of State Sanitary and Epidemic Service Kyiv department Olga Rudnytska said during the extended meeting of the Kyiv City State Administration, ForUm correspondent reports.

She noted that, as of January 7-13, preliminary diagnosis of ARVI were given to 14 thousand people. That means that 49 people in a hundred thousand people in the capital are sick, which is 2.8 times below epidemic threshold.

Director of the KCSA healthcare department Vitaly Mokhorev reported that Kyiv continues preparing for a possible increase in the incidence of influenza and ARVI. In particular, consumables are already bought, medicines were received in the last year, including Tamiflu drug.
