Responding the question about withdrawal of PACE monitoring due to the adoption of several laws to fulfill obligations before the Council of Europe, head of the Office for Constitutional and Legal Modernisation Affairs under the Administration of the President of Ukraine Maryna Stavniychuk said that issue of withdrawal from Ukraine of PACE monitoring is still pending.
"Ukraine has repeatedly requested the Council of Europe to abolish the relevant PACE monitoring. In my view, this question is still pending. However, I can say that the issue of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will require more rigorous monitoring of activities, performed in Ukraine on the implementation of European commitments. If Ukraine aims to join the EU, we should conscientiously implement the European community standards in the socio-political and legal life," Maryna Stavniychuk said.
