In 2013, the Kyiv Center for Social Services for families, children and youth will employ 354 specialists in social work, the center's director Valery Tantsyura said during the presentation of the activities of the centers of social services for families, children and youth of the city of Kyiv in the KCSA, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Last year we employed 201 people. Thus, since this year, about 800 people will work in the centers network, 250 of state employees and 565 specialists in social work," Tantsyura said.
According to him, over the years the social service centers have prepared 202 people from among the candidates for foster parents. He also said that in 2012, social workers provided assistance to orphans graduates. "37 orphans underwent program for independent living, another 1.402 children are in field of vision of our employees," Tantsyura said.
Director of the Kyiv Center for Social Services noted that eight thousand children and young people with functional limitations live in the capital. "Two thousand these children are clients of our services. The rehabilitation centers for such people are established in each district. We do our best to make them feel decent members of society. In particular, we organize social and cultural activities for them. The main among them is the festival of children with disabilities "Believe in yourself", the final of which was held in December last year," Tantsyura said.
