Lack of the snow removal equipments and increase in the number of cars are the main reasons of unsatisfactory cleaning of Kyiv roads during the winter season, ex-mayor of Kyiv Ivan Saliy told a conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the capital does not have enough snowplows, and the current ones are old constantly breaking down.
In addition, the ex-mayor noted that housing departments clean 30% of territory in the capital, and more than 50% of passages between districts do not belong to anyone, so they are not cleaned at all.
Saliy also stressed that the road cleaning has recently become more complicated because of the increased number of vehicles in the city.
