
According to the forecasts of sociologists, 311.5 thousand applicants will try to entre the Ukrainian universities this year, director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment Iryna Zaitseva noted during the roundtable "Role of the independent testing in Ukrainian education", ForUm correspondent reports.
In turn, MP from the Fatherland faction, head of the parliamentary committee on science and education Liliya Hrynevych stated that the external independent testing will be regulated by law.
The official stressed that the task of the Verkhovna Rada is to hold the parliamentary hearings on higher education in Ukraine during three-four months, as well as to regulate the external independent testing.
She stressed that the independent testing exists in different countries and is called a "feature of civilization in education."
As for the attitude of society towards independent testing, sociologist Iryna Bekeshkina said that sociological studies indicate a formation of the stable public opinion in Ukraine regarding support for the external independent testing, as a decisive criterion for university admission.
