Currenty, the state of overwintering crops is satisfactory, director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Mykola Kulbida told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Only about 12% of crops are in an underdeveloped state and this category may be under threat in the event of weather complications - severe cold, icy crust over the crops. However, this percentage is within the average indices, as 10-12% of crops in Ukraine annually dies or goes out of hibernation in poor condition," he said.
According to Kulbida, the largest area planted in poor condition is in Crimea - about 40%. "In other regions, this figure is much lower, therefore we have no great concern in this respect," director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center summed up.
