Hundreds of Ukrainians in other countries cannot return to Ukraine or are going back to Ukraine by other flights with delays because of the cancellation and delays of AeroSvit's flights, Interfax informs.

According to the information policy department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine, due to the cancellation of the airline's flights 196 Ukrainian citizens remain at Ho Chi Minh International Airport (Vietnam). The Ukrainian Embassy in Vietnam is taking measures to provide necessary consular assistance to Ukrainian passengers for their return to the homeland.

On January 6, a similar situation with this airline happened at Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv (Israel), where 54 Ukrainian citizens got into difficulty.

"On January 7, some 19 of the 54 Ukrainian citizens flew to Kyiv International Airport by the airplane of UIA, another 35 Ukrainians are to be transported to Ukraine by the aircraft of other air carriers on the same day," reads a statement by the Foreign Ministry.

In addition, on January 5, due to the delay of AeroSvit's flight 40 Ukrainians plunged into a difficulty at Stockholm International Airport.

On January 5-6, the people were carried to Ukraine with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden.

Due to the cancellation of the Kyiv-Tashkent-Kyiv flight of AeroSvit on January 6, about 80 passengers could not fly to Kyiv. As of January 7, almost all the passengers had been transported to Ukraine by other airlines. Four passengers, whose flight is scheduled for January 11, were settled in a hotel.

"The consular service department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine and the relevant foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine are following up the situation related to the return of Ukrainian citizens to their homeland and will continue providing them with the needed consular assistance," assured the Ministry.
