Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine needs the LNG terminal, and the case with a questionable signing the contract to build it should be investigated.
"We understand that we will face obstacles in this way. However, no technical inconsistencies will stop us. LNG terminal project is to be implemented. The case of the dubious signing of the document should be investigated and specific findings should be made," Yanukovych said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
According to him, there is no alternative to construction of LNG-terminal in Ukraine, as it is designed to provide real energy independence for our country.
