The authorities will greatly strengthen control over the use of all available resources, including the budget funds, in 2013, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
The President believes it is extremely necessary to pay great attention to the stability of the situation in the macro-financial sphere, which, above all, requires a sound fiscal policy and significant cost savings. "The state budget for 2013 should be executed efficiently, with saving as its main objective," Viktor Yanukovych summed up.
The President expressed his conviction that "the country's main economic document must immediately respond to external economic factors and the growth of the domestic economy". At the same time, he stressed that in spite of the predicted severe economic situation, the current budget is intended to prevent the deterioration of the social protection of our citizens.
Responding the question about possibility of making changes to the budget, the President said: "I expect that the new Cabinet will make specific proposals for changes in the state budget for 2013, to make this document more effective".
