Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych considers it appropriate to adapt the national legislation to those rules of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, which do not conflict with the international obligations of Ukraine.

"I believe that Ukraine should consider adapting the national legislation to those regulations of the Customs Union that would not conflict with our international obligations. Experts on both sides are currently working on this issue," Yanukovych said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, Interfax informs.

According to the Ukrainian President, they expected the parties to prepare specific proposals during Yanukovych's planned working visit to Moscow. "But the meeting had to be postponed to a later date due to the fact that experts had not been able to agree on all the details of the future agreements," the President said.

Yanukovych also said that Ukraine was looking for means and opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation with the Customs Union. "One should not forget that the Customs Union is a huge market for Ukrainian products, Ukrainian trade with the organization totals more than $60 billion," the President said.
