52 new laws and 36 law regulations of the Cabinet have come into force since January 1, 2013 in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, opening the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to Azarov, these documents define the continuation of reforms aimed at deregulation and creation of the business friendly environment, ensuring the rights of citizens. "Our critics are constantly trying to convince people that the reforms are not being implemented. However, the facts strongly suggest the contrary: we continue reforms in all spheres," the official said.

He said that a number of fundamental and extremely important laws for the country's development come into force in 2013. In particular, he mentioned the laws on employment; emergency medical care; public associations; the State Land Cadastre; the promotion of investment in priority sectors to create new jobs; economic experiment on shipbuilding industry; on the national target program of protection of population and territories from emergency situations of natural and manmade character for 2013-2017.

In addition, the Prime Minister reminded that certain provisions of the Budget Code and the Tax Code, as well as six basic laws, in particular, on regulation of urban planning, legal assistance and administrative services, come into effect. "Innovations are intended to stimulate the modernization of the domestic industry, the expansion of production and employment. I recall that since January 1, the income tax rate was reduced from 21% to 19%, and the IT sector enjoys the rate of 5% and a zero VAT rate," Azarov said.
