Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree "On Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia", ForUm learned from the press service of the President.
A relevant decree was posted on the web site of the Ukrainian President on January 2, 2013.
The purpose of this encyclopedia is to preserve, organize and disseminate the scientific knowledge about the development of human civilization and Ukraine's contribution to the world history and culture.
Yanukovych suggested the National Academy of Sciences to create the editorial board for the Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia, which will oversee the preparation and publication of the book.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers was ordered to develop together with the National Academy of Sciences and approve within two months an action plan to prepare and publish the Encyclopedia for 2013-2020.
The President instructed the executive branch to promote the creation of the Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia.
