Ukraine’s foreign policy to have multi-vector nature, Rybak says

President Viktor Yanukovych is acting in accordance with the historical mission of Ukraine, implementing the multi-vector strategy, speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak said in the interview.

"Today, our market is in Russia, and the standard of living is in the EU. We need to find a balance, to build a mutually beneficial partnership with Russia and actively seek markets in Europe. Otherwise it will not work. President acts in this direction.

Multi-vector policy is historic mission of Ukraine. This fact must be admitted. We should not hide behind double standards," he said.

However, he stressed that he considered Ukraine a European country, whose citizens deserve a better life. "I know the President, I knowing that he, too, has experienced poverty and I am deeply convinced that the President would not give up his goals," speaker said.
