Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will decide on the candidate for the position of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) governor in the coming days.
"In the coming days I will decide on the candidate for the national bank's governor. The national bank and the financial system should play an important part in the development of our state," Yanukovych said at a meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday, according to the presidential press service.
The head of state stressed that one of priority tasks for the next year will be macroeconomic policy aimed at creation of new incentives for credit and investment activities.
As reported, on Monday Yanukovych appointed NBU Governor Serhiy Arbuzov as first vice premier. Head of the NBU Council Ihor Prasolov was appointed as minister of economic development and trade.
